ADVOCACY INITIATIVES

LHC is the current chair of the Nakuru GBV working cluster group. This platform provides an opportunity to strengthen networking and collaboration, contributes to synergy and less duplication of services among relevant stakeholders across sectors and programs. The GBV working cluster group also provides the opportunity to realise HIV and GBV advocacy issues. In the previous programming, the platform contributed to the consideration of government funded rescue centre for survivors in the Nakuru County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP) and the Annual Operation Plan (AOP).

CAPACITY BUILDING OF FRONT LINE WORKERS

Front-line service providers in target areas have been trained to increase their capacity to effectively identify, prevent and respond to violence and abuse against Adolescent Girls and Young Women(AGYWs) Front line workers include : Health Facility Management Committee members ,Community health volunteers ,Community Facilitators and GBV Committee members’

LIFESKILLS-HUMAN RIGHTS& ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT FOR WOMEN & GIRLS

We sensitize target women and girls are on fundamental human/women rights, leadership roles, life skills and legal rights and their roles in decision making on issues that affect them; while community gatekeepers and male partners of HIV positive women and survivors are trained and supported to understand women rights and become agents of change on violence against females.
